"Regretfully, Copperfox Model Horses will be shutting it’s stable door on the 14th August 2018.
We set out to create a range of model horses of British Native breeds for horse lovers worldwide to cherish and with your help and support through many challenges, we achieved this goal. Your encouragement and belief helped us achieve what many thought was the impossible, so a truly heartfelt thank you for making it all a reality.
Our journey now though has sadly come to an end for a number of reasons. We have had a turbulent few months trying to negotiate with our factory and in short, the factory does not want to produce our models, at the quality we know our customers would expect, for a reasonable price. The factory find the models very labour intensive and therefore want to increase the price considerably, which obviously we cannot accept as it’s unsustainable. Despite our ceaseless efforts we have been unable to find an alternative factory in China nor an alternative plan of how we can continue production of the plastic models. The paint team at the factory have already been disbanded as the factory are adamant that they do not want to produce the models. This has added to the ever increasing costs of plastic and shipping, exchange rates, tooling costs and their maintenance, as well as a never ending list of production obstacles.
This difficult time has had to made us review the business in-depth. Since it’s formation, it has put us both under an immense about of pressure taking an extreme toil on our health, well being, family and finances. Bedtimes and family commitments have been missed due to us trying to make it work, together with countless sleepless nights as we were both utterly committed to making Copperfox Model Horses a success. With sadness, we have made the decision that the time has come for us to step away from the model horse world, a community which has changed so much during the 20 years we have been a part of it.
This news means that there will be no more plastic Copperfox Model Horses, even though we were on the verge of a next production run. The samples were confirmed but the production never finalised during our negotiations so no models were created.
We shall be re-homing all our remaining stock from our warehouse over the next few weeks. Both our new models, Winston and Scamp are available, whilst stocks last, in resin as originally planned but there will be no plastic versions of these models.
We would like to thank all you, once again, our Copperfox Ambassadors, Fans and Followers for your continued support and helping us make it all possible. Thank you for joining us on this fabulous journey and giving our models wonderful forever homes.

Copperfox Model Horses"
Important Update - 9th August 2018
"Hello Copperfox Fans and Followers. We wanted to give you an update since our important announcement to let you know where we are and what will be happening next. Firstly, we would like to say a big, big thank you for all your support, comments and kindness at a time that is hard for us all. We really appreciate your emails and messages, and you sharing your model horse memories with us- and of course pictures of your Copperfoxes! It’s amazing to see them all! We have been overwhelmed by the response to our news, which makes our tough but required decision that even bit harder.
In positive news, we are talking to several individuals who are interesting in taking on Copperfox Model Horses both as a whole operation and cherry picking a couple of the models to produce in both plastic and resin. Talks are on-going so we will see what happens. Watch this space as they say!
In relation to this is our collection of archive models, a vast Copperfox collection of samples that were used to produce all our Copperfox models. The archive includes samples of "Regular Run" CF models, Prize CF models and Special Event CF models, in addition to the first crowdfunding/kickstarter models. It also includes the original prototypes for each model produced at our factory (e.g models sent to the factory and what from the plastic samples were created from).
Our aim is for the majority of the archives to go with the company, if it is re-homed, as it is an unrivaled model horse collection of CF history showing it's journey from the beginning to where it is now. It is however a very large collection of models, bearing in mind that for every Copperfox model (RR, Prize or SR) we produced 2 to 3 sample models to ensure the model was correct before production went into full swing.
We will be thinning down the archives, reserving at least one of each model to stay in the main archive collection, with the excess amount of models becoming available to purchase and re-homed with Copperfox Collectors. These models will be auctioned via eBay to ensure everyone has a fair opportunity to purchase them. We will let everyone know when these auctions go live via our website and social media channels, so please keep an eye out. We anticipate this to be around the end of August/Early September as it will take us some time to catalogue and photograph everything.
Also, the Copperfox website will be online until at least the end of September 2018. The link to the online shop has been removed from the website, simply because there is nothing left in the shop to buy, but everything else on the website is as normal.
Thank you again everyone for your support.

Copperfox Is Now Closed
Today we closed the stable door on Copperfox Model Horses and the brilliant adventure it has been. It's been a fabulous journey and a big thank you once again to our Copperfox Fans, Followers and Founding Foxes who helped make it possible.
We are still here answering emails and questions but as a company we are no longer trading, which means we are not selling models nor able to exchange or refund horses any longer. The Copperfox website will remain online for viewing until approximately the end of September 2018 and all our social media channels are active and functioning as usual.
As to the future, we are in talks with several individuals who are interesting in taking on Copperfox Model Horses both as a whole operation and/or cherry picking a couple of the models to produce in both plastic and resin. Talks are on-going so we will see what happens. The aim, if Copperfox is re-homed, is for the website and all our social media channels to go with the models, so there is no disruption. We will have a clearer picture of what the options are towards the end of this month/early September and we will let you know what is happening as soon as we do ourselves.
As briefly mentioned in our previous post, we are thinning down the archives and our own personal collection of models. These models will be auctioned via eBay to ensure everyone has a fair opportunity to purchase them. We will let everyone know when these auctions go live via our website and social media channels, so please keep an eye out. We anticipate this to be around the beginning of September as it will take us some time to catalogue and photograph everything. As a little preview, this Atlantis test Connemara model from our Kickstarter days will be looking for a new home (as well as a few other goodies that have never seen the light of day...!)
